The SIOP Europe Annual Meeting date changed to 28-30 April 2021. 

Please find below frequently asked questions related to the changes of the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting. This FAQ will be updated regularly as we receive additional questions.

What are the new dates of the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting?

The 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting will take place virtually on 28 - 30 April 2021.  

Why was the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting format changed to a VIRTUAL?

The 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting format changed from physical meeting to VIRTUAL due to the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of all Annual Meeting attendees and the patients/communities they serve are SIOP Europe’s main priorities. This difficult decision to change the format of the Annual Meeting was made following regular updates and information received from the World Health Organisation, local health advisory authorities together with feedback from members of the peadiatric oncology community. 

A Virtual Meeting: What does it mean?

"Virtual” means that all plenary sessions, scientific sessions, operational meetings and the industry exhibition will be featured online.

Delegates will have access to an online platform for the Virtual Meeting and a scheduled programme will be provided.  Most plenary sessions will be streamed ‘live’ but some will be pre-recorded. All sessions will be recorded and available for viewing ‘on demand’ until 30 June 2021. 

The SIOP Europe Virtual Annual Meeting will provide a distinct opportunity for participants to share their knowledge, collaborate on cutting-edge research and debate the outcomes of the high quality clinical and basic research carried out in Europe, as well as provide mentoring and training for young doctors and fellows.

Do I need a special connection, tool, or software to attend a Virtual Congress?

No, you do not need a special connection, tool, or software to use the Virtual Meeting Platform. You can use your personal computer or a mobile device. The Virtual Meeting platform can be viewed in any browser, but we suggest using Chrome for a better user experience.

What happens if I did not confirm my decision by 9 February 2021?

 You can still transfer your registration, but the normal cancellation terms and conditions will apply if you decide to cancel your registration. It is beneficiary for your to decide before the deadline on 9 February 2021.

ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION

I have registered for the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting in 2020. What should I do if I want to attend the Annual Meeting in 2021?  

All registrations for 2nd SIOP Europe 2020 Annual Meeting remain valid for the new dates/ format in 2021 (28-30 April 2021). 

As the registration fee has changed, we propose you 2 options: 

1. You can transfer your Registration to the Virtual meeting (the fee difference will be reimbursed)

2. You can cancel the Registration and ask for a refund

You will be asked to confirm this online via our Registration portal. Please kindly note that you will receive a separate email with the link to the portal in January 2021. 

Please confirm your decision by 9 February 2021. 

What happens if I have an existing registration and cannot attend the Annual Virtual Meeting in 2021?

If you are not able to attend the SIOP Europe 2021 Annual Meeting, you may cancel your registration and request a refund. 

If you cannot attend the Virtual Annual Meeting and you wish to cancel the registration, please use the Registration portal to confirm your choice: click here. The decision has to be made by 9 February 2021. 

Please note that an administration fee of 25 EUR applies to registration cancellations, Parent/Survivors, Nurses and Young oncologists registrants will be exempt of the administration fee.  Kindly note that the process for refunds may take up to 30 days depending on the current situation.

What happens if I want to cancel after 9 February 2021?

The normal event cancellation terms and conditions will apply.

Cancellation conditions

after the 9 February 2021 and before 1 April 2021 - 50% of the paid registration fee will be deducted

after 1 April 2021 – no refund can be processed. 

I had cancelled my registration for the 2020 dates but I changed my mind and I now would like to attend the 2021 Annual Meeting. What should I do?  

Registration to the SIOP Europe 2021 Annual Meeting will re-open in January 2021. Please check the Annual Meeting website for updates. 

Can I transfer my registration to someone else? If so, how can I do this? 

No, it is not possible to transfer registrations.

I want to participate in the Virtual Meeting as new participant. What is the registration fee?

Following registration fees apply for new registrations to the Virtual Meeting:

50 EUR for CCI Europe and CCI Members (Parents & Survivors), Young oncologists and Nurses

75 EUR for SIOP Europe Members and Parents & Survivors representatives (non CCI members)

150 EUR for other participants (non-members) 

Do I need an invitation to attend this Virtual Meeting? 

No, this time the registration will be open to all participants and the invitation letter will not be required. 

SOCIAL / NETWORKING EVENTS

I have booked tickets for social /networking events. Do I need to take any action to reserve my place? 

All social events will be refunded in full. 

Sponsors, Partners and Exhibition

SIOP Europe is planning a virtual exhibition hall with opportunities for sponsors, partners, exhibitors and attendees to interact. All sponsors and exhibitors will be contacted to confirm participation status.
