ANNUAL MEETING RESCHEDULED

The SIOP Europe Annual Meeting has been postponed to 26-30 April 2021 (Valencia, Spain).  

Please find below frequently asked questions related to the rescheduling of the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting. This FAQ will be updated regularly as we receive additional questions.

What are the news dates of the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting?

The 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting will take place on 26 - 30 April 2021 in Valencia, Spain.

Why was the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting postponed?

The 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting was postponed due to the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of all Annual Meeting attendees and the patients/communities they serve are SIOP Europe’s main priorities. This difficult decision to reschedule the Annual Meeting was made following regular updates and information received from the World Health Organisation, local health advisory authorities together with feedback from members of our community. 

Will there be live streaming or virtual meeting options for the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting? 

No, there are no plans for live streaming or virtual meeting options. The Annual Meeting is a ‘physical event’ that will take place in Valencia, Spain. 

ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION

I have registered for the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting in 2020. What should I do if I want to attend the Annual Meeting in 2021?  

All registrations for 2nd SIOP Europe 2020 Annual Meeting remain valid for the new dates (26-30 April 2021). 

No action or update is required from your side.

What happens if I have an existing registration and can’t attend the Annual Meeting in 2021?

If you are not able to attend the SIOP Europe 2021 Annual Meeting, you may cancel your registration and request a refund. 

In the event you cannot attend the new dates, please notify your wish to cancel by email to siope.registration@c-in.eu before 31 May 2020. Please also note an administration fee of 25 EUR applies to all registration cancellations except for Parent/Survivors, Nurses and young oncologists registrants, who will be exempt the administration fee. Kindly note that the process for refunds may take up to 60 days depending on the current situation.

What happens if I want to cancel after 31 May 2020?

The normal event cancellation terms and conditions will apply.

I had cancelled my registration for the 2020 dates but I have changed my mind and I now would like to attend the 2021 Annual Meeting. What should I do?  

Registration to the SIOP Europe 2021 Annual Meeting will re-open in September 2020. Please check the Annual Meeting website for updates. 

Can I transfer my registration to someone else? If so, how can I do this? 

It is not possible to transfer registrations.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

Will participants who have purchased flights or booked accommodation, receive a refund for these services?

For hotel accommodation, please contact the agency or hotel to cancel your booking and check the cancellation conditions. 

For flights, contact your airline directly and if you have taken a travel insurance, contact your provider for information about the cancellation procedure. Several airlines offer flight changes or flight vouchers free of charge.

The organisers of the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting cannot be held liable by participants for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation and accommodation costs, financial losses, or any other miscellaneous expenses.  

SOCIAL / NETWORKING EVENTS

I have booked tickets for social /networking events. Do I need to take any action to reserve my place? 

The following the social /networking events will take place on new dates:

  • I-BFM dinner: 26 April 2021
  • Young SIOPE Networking Event: 27 April 2021 
  • SIOP Europe Networking Dinner: 28 April 2021
  • Charity Run: 30 April 2021

How can I best update the hotel I  booked for previous the 2nd SIOP Europe Annual Meeting dates? 

Hotel Reservation should be updated in the following way:

  • Hotel bookings must be cancelled directly with the hotel in person. Please contact relevant hotels directly with your request.
CAUTION: Please be aware of fraudulent third party websites that attempt to mislead event participants by offering Accommodation and Registration services. They may claim to be part of the 'official SIOP Europe Annual Meeting'. Please note that the SIOP Europe has no agreement or affiliation with these providers and we recommend that delegates/companies do not give information to them.
